Every (happy) tree branch got its own special attention. My animalia received a thorough photo study along with polygonal modeling in my imagination, sketches and psychologically assessing primal tendencies of the brain. It sat incubating, rendering in the subconscious of it’s would-be-collector for about a year after he first bought a print of it, before he could no longer resist and we finally worked out an amazing deal for him to own the original.
Fox Holo is coming across a glitch in the matrix, if you will, a holographic representation of yourself from another dimension. ‘What other kind of dimension’ You might ask? Perhaps a higher dimension such as the 5th or 6th dimension, or perhaps a lower dimension like the 1st or 2nd… It’s hard to tell when you look at the fractal signature that embodies reality.
This idea is not as far fetched as it seems. It’s coming up a lot in theoretical physics as The Holographic Principle. A property of String Theory and a supposed property of quantum gravity that states that the description of a volume of space can be thought of as encoded on a lower-dimensional boundary to the region—preferably a light-like boundary like a gravitational horizon.
So perhaps this fox is encoded in a lower dimension to begin with, and is just seeing an artifact of residual computations lagging in the buffer of space/time. Perhaps this anomaly is a mirror to a world where only polyhedral, angular geometry can exist. Or a world where one can face their own fears via instant manifested thought. To exist and face your mortality is the greatest thing you have to fear. Once you have conquered that fear, there is nothing holding you back from taking the chances you were afraid of that were actually holding you back in life.
Fox Holo reminds us of theories that tantalize and perhaps disturbs the mind but at the same time, allows us to reflect on ourselves through a surreal lens.
Our deepest, darkest fear, that is, the reflection of our own self-image can be our salvation or damnation. Choose which voices in your head to amplify and repeat vs. the ones you wish to stop echoing. The majority of thoughts you have shape who you are as you manifest your own reality. Feeling negative comes naturally as an indicator of a need for behavioral or environmental change. It is actually the contrast of what we consider good and bad that causes us to desire and move in that direction. So, as much as we hate it, we really need the contrasting experiences in life to make any good out of it. That said, persistent day-to-day negative self-talk must be controlled in order to achieve enlightenment. So, how do you feel about your inner-reflection? Do you love it?
I am ever on this journey of looking deep within who I am. It’s hard work sometimes when you find something you don’t like. It can be extremely emotional and sometimes even lead to some really low periods. But they always pass easier each time I tell myself these things: Forgive yourself and listen to the part of you that says you are worthy of your dreams to contribute something great to the world! Above all, I hope this painting can remind people of that. You are the creator of your reality by how you truly see yourself.
If there’s one thing we should learn from our holographic legends like Neo in The Matrix, is that you are here to shape your own experience. Be the change you wish to see in the world. Dare to dream big.
I think, therefore I am that, I am. -Vincent Fink
